Is Network 21 (Amway) A Joke?

Hi.

I was foolish enough to attend the Canberra, Australia winter conference for Network 21, which cost me $170 plus fuel, food expenses.
The whole event was a joke, it was like a massive hypnotic session where “established” IBO’s would show case there holidays, cars just to further a)suck in the young one’s to train more suckers out there or b)put off people in the process.

People where dressed in there suits and Tie’s, gowns and dress just to add the glitz of the success. Noone was ever friendly except for those on your team or upline who only looked at you because your worth $$$$$$$$..

The number 1 guy for the whole weekend was Massimo Bini, who showcased his good life by ripping off others.

After that weekend went past, I now have cancelled all my associations with Amway, Network 21.

Beware it is a SCAM, I just had to pay a fortune to see the real light.

Never again AMWAY.. you losers.!!

yeah greed is blind and thats what their tool against people is using their own greed against them. Anyone in their right mind would acess scamway and realise that it's all about scaming, reminds me of the whole amphetamines world.... Seems like self destruction doesn't require drugs....

Hi. Can you explain to me more why you say it is a scam?
Or maybe refer me to an article which explains [not something emotionally-charged],
I definitely agree with you about the way they hammer people over the head with
"look how much money I have, wouldn't you like to have this much money and time?"
and I would say they use some cult-like tactics to get people in,
but I can also see how their business model works, and I think it is interesting.
It seems to be a money-cult, [based yes, on greed] but where money can actually be made,
and the products they sell actually seem to be very high-quality and totally ethical,
all related to health and well-being.
I have been invited to the coming canberra conference.
Not sure if I should go.
I've only been to two meetings.
The first one was rubbish, but the second one might have hooked my interest a bit.

I say it's a scam because many IBO leaders pretend that they are rich due to Amway but the reality is that many of these "diamonds" are making the real money by selling tools to their downline.

Anonymous said...

By "tools" do you mean their "educational" materials, CDs, books etc?

I caught that piece of information in a youtube video today.

Makes sense.

hahaha...you all are fun to be read. just because you all have judged the industry based on your view doesnt change the facts......grow up

Lol bunch of idiots Amway is nothing like that ia not a scam cavemen who doesn't have intelligence obviously won't understand their ways and objectives jaja is incredible how stupid ppl are if you don't have the brains don't judge

Anonymous said...

Networks are based on hope not on facts. They work as long as they can sell their product: HOPE. As long as new fools are caught some profit for diamonds is created. Be one of the small fish to increase wealth of the rich and join. Or do something good in life.

Hey,

I've been invited to one of these conferences... I'm really not interested, but I'm being invited by one of my very good friends (I honestly never thought he would try to rope me in such schemes, but c'est la vie)...

I couldn't say no to him out of respect, I know network marketing is not a scheme (unlike MLMs)... but I personally don't think that Amway is such a strong brand which can attract a lot of interests. Plus I really don't want to be that cheesy guy approaching his friends with a "Business scheme".

Well, it's definitely not for me, I am going out of respect... but I'll reject because of my choice... no amount of "rich life" advertising is going to convince me otherwise. :)

Katie said...

First of all, as a business owner involved with the Amway corporation, I can assure you that it is not a scam, nor is it a pyramid scheme. They are illegal. Amway has a top rating on the B.B.B. and is a legitimate business opportunity.

The foundation of the Amway corporation is well thought out, and set up in a way that offers equal opportunity to anyone who decides to become an independent business owner with their company. Everyone starts in the same place. There is no commission received by anyone with the start up fee; it pays for the tools you need to start your business and is good value for the money spent.

I don't know any business that doesn't take good work ethic, perseverance, and invested time to get of the ground. This business is no different except that you can build it without investing a huge amount of capital. It is not a get rich quick scheme, and there is some hard work to put in before it will pay huge dividends. The Amway business model fits for some and not for others; like any business.

Problems arise because the business involves people. In order to build a successful business, one must be genuinely interested in helping other people succeed. There have been, unfortunately, many people, and teams of people who have been solely interested in their own advancement to the detriment of the people they have joined in their business, using poor, sometimes dishonest tactics. This reflects the people, not the opportunity.

The Amway business opportunity has proven over time to work for those who genuinely want to help others in business and have a good deal of tenacity and vision. Amway cannot realistically monitor every person affiliated with their company to make sure that unhealthy tactics are not being used, and has therefore often come under attack because of the poor behaviour of certain distributers.

Amway is a growing and ever expanding company with new products with innovative science behind them, and is committed to ethical and environmental advancement in products and business. They have also been dedicated to stewarding their resources well which comes out in community development, personal development and sustainable practices to name a few.

If you are interested in getting involved, my advise would be to find a team of people who act with integrity and who are committed to supporting their business owners and genuinely care about your success, and then take a good look inside yourself. Ask if you are willing to genuinely care about people and their success. Are you willing to develop as a professional and in character and act with integrity and diplomacy? Some of the educational and promotional tools can be of great benefit in this area as well.

Amway is not about scamming your friends and family into helping you make money. It is about meeting people, developing relationships and finding out who the business opportunity fits for and then working with them to help them succeed in it. Yes, this takes time, interest in others, commitment to moving forward and intentionality.

I am sorry for those who have had bad experiences. However, I adjure you to think a little more objectively. If one goes to a Dr or a mechanic and he gives terrible advise, acts rudely and obviously just considers you a number to pay his salary, one doesn't tend to write off the medical or mechanical system and post hate letters on the internet against the occupation.

The way that you think comes out in the way that you live your life. People will be people; some honourable, some not. One should always try to base one's views on fact, not solely on conjecture, hearsay or singular experience.

Its not a scam as such but it offers so much false hope.

The only people successful in Network21/amway is people who are already successful.

The talkers they get are people who have been successful before in life. They offer so much hope to people who unfortunately are not or are capable of being successful.

The thing that gets me the most is the lies. Amway/Network 21 Turn you against friends and Family. You should not mix business with friends and family and this is what they promote.

I was recently in Canberra for their conference (My 2nd One) and the speakers used emotional blackmail. One even said that "Any Friends negative about Amway or NW21 are not real friends and you should be ditching them"

Its not Amway that annoys me about all this is the Tactics that NW21 use and i think its disgraceful. Its basic sales techniques you can find anywhere and if you put the time into anything else you could have been equally if not more successful.

Network 21 is nothing but a Cult!

Christina said...

Well said Katie,I too am a independent business owner and I only work with people who would like to create a business while enjoying the use of the high quality products plus partner stores. Everyone who is complaining about Amway are probably already paying full retail cost at one of these stores already and they don,t realize they can get most of there goods and services at wholesale price rather than paying full retail, through their membership. Now does that sound like a scam!Furthermore everything including your membership has a 90 moneyback gaurantee all you have to do is had the packaging back even if you,ve used the entire contents and you can get your money back this includes the conference tickets that you paid $170.00 for if you didn,t like it get a refund, always wise to get all the facts guys.Hope all the people who feel working for another company were your making some guy up the line from you rich and happy is a better way to go, we wouldn,t want to see you in a pyramid now would we!!

Joecool said...

Hi Christina,

The reality is that you're a commissioned sales person and not a business owner with Amway. And you get to pay for that privilege via cds and seminars.

P said...

I am one of the guys who got caught up in this scam of Amway / Network 21. The whole idea was to join for a minimum cost and then see if this is the business you wanted to do or not. But before that the guys charged me $400 toward some conference without my permission and i could not cancel my tickets. Its all expenses without any incomes being generated.

Though, i do understand what Katie says. Its a system and it runs of the people. If your upline / people above you are nice and genuinely helping to help you and in-turn help themselves its good. But it did not work on those terms.

They are only worried till you join. Once you are in, they look for the next person.

I would strongly request / suggest people not to join. Even if you have to join, do not join a group run by someone called Ron Mahulkar and Ajay. The biggest cheaters in Network 21. All their discussions are based on some Body Language studies they have done. There is nothing else.

ITS A COMPLETE SCAM. BEWARE OF THESE TWO GUYS...

Hello All

As an ex Amway distributor let me tell you why it was a scam.

Very little money is being made via selling products. In return distributors (commissioned sales people, business owners, etc) are then pressured to buy books & tapes and attend seminars and so on (as mentioned above).

I was told that these seminars were provided at cost, but this was sadly not true. In fact the wealth on show at the seminars and rallies was directly attributed to the attendees turning up.

In short, the money made in Amway is made via the selling of motivational books and tapes and not from selling the Amway products. It is this fact that often leads many to describing it as a scam. I certainly felt 'scammed' when I found out the truth.

Joecool said...

Phil, thanks for sharing. Your story is not uncommon. Too bad these leaders are never held accountable for lying.

Hello, everyone!
One of my good friends has been recently caught into this Scamway/NW21 thing. You can't imagine how drastically he's changed. The only thing he talks about now is this Amway selling and recruiting and all that stupid rubbish. And it's impossible to talk to him about anything else. We'd been quite close friends, and can you imagine now I don't even pick up the phone when I see him calling. He's been completely zombied out. All the arguments I could find to discourage him from joining he rejected, and I'm afraid they even made him more confident that his "new thinking" is actually right... Of course the result up till now is obvious: without earning a cent out of all this stupid activity, he has already been to a couple of seminars (and u have to pay your travelling expenses yourself too), and bought a bunch of booklets from them which total around 500 bucks. Is there any good known antidote against this scam/cult? Or does it stop only when people themselves start to realize they've been simply f** up?? Can anyone help, please?
Josh.

Just found this post when I was trying to search for a contact within Network 21. The reason being my mum very foolishly attended one of their conferences and due to the terrible arrangements there met with an accident and is now bed ridden with a fractured shoulder, broken tooth and bruises. My dad is wanting to send them a legal notice via the consumer forum as sending a complaint to the Network 21 office has resulted in nothing! Furthermore my mum's supposed upline who was supposed to be her so called support and her friend has turned against her for 'complaining".

Just for the record the conference was held with over 6000 people in attendance, no water was allowed inside, the conference was held in complete darkness, impossible to find your way, no ushers to guide, no water in the toilets after half the day and wires and cables laid out in the passages. This is where my mum tripped and fell resulting in a fractured shoulder and now everyone from Network 21 and Amway has suddenly disappeared.

The conference was held in Delhi but I am sure these conferences are very shabbily arranged and we also learnt that the organisers earn huge profits through the sale of exorbitant tickets to these so called educational conferences.

So beware of Network 21 and Amway!

cheers

There is alot of negative stuff on here.
Obviously your dream is not bigger than your fear.
If you are a new person busy searching google for amway/network21
I really hope that you do the correct research. My father has an amway business as he realises he will not be able to retire with the same income as he earns as a doctor.
The foundation principles of Amway of freedom.family.hope.reward
Do you value your future?
I am sorry, but noone has offered me an opportunity to be in business for myself at low start up cost - no capital investment.
During this economy -- no-one has asked me what my dreams are in life - except my upline.

Now. You can sit there infront of your PC and read these things (that anyone can type and write). Do they have any credibility? I think not. How can you let the opinions of others influence you own future on this planet?
Do your own due dilegence, for your own families future. Make a time line of your life 10 years from now - look at your boss -- ask yourself:
Do you want his lifestyle?
Do you want his freedom?
Take a look around. What is the alternative?
If you dont join, its ok. We need airplane pilots and people in industry. I will be enjoying my freedom and finding people who have dreams to be free and helping them- thank you.

Hi! I just came across this site by accident. Let me tell you I found it very funny reading all the negative comments. Funny, because people are giving expert opinions about something which they have not tried (except attend 1 meeting or similar) and have no clue about! Companies do not cross 11 billion in turnover by scamming nor do they work successfully in 100 plus countries. Amnyhow, the loss is yours. It is a genuine opportunity for success and you have to work hard to make money- but it is there and lots of added benefits like good health, no stress, personality development, etc. etc too! All the best with whatever you are doing-- ut don;t please talk about things you don't know about.

I'm sorry so many people have a negative perspective. We have been very successful in Amway & make very little via tools & N21. We operate our business with respect & integrity & always hope people who leave, go with a positive memory of the education & product experiences.
No, it's not perfect... but what business is? But I can honestly say I've met great people who have absolutely the best intentions when offering this business & trying to help them succeed.
Please be careful before doing a blanket criticism across all leaders & people involved. Many are educated, good people & we've generally seen shonky ones self destruct anyway.
Whatever choices for your career or your life you make, I wish you well.

Hi, these scam comments are pretty annoying. If you look at any other business structure they won't pay for your professional development. So don't complain about paying for your own tickets to attend a function from highly successful business people. The books are excellent. The things I have learned from these books are changing my life to think more positively and have more resilience. They didn't teach me this at school. Nor did my parents teach me this. I now am teaching my parents to think more positively using the network 21 system to educate. We will say it again - You meet good and bad people everywhere - If you feel that your upline has ripped you off by signing you up - tell them.Your signature needs to go on the forms before you pay for anything - that is purely a choice. Your team has an invested interest in your success. and the best thing is you can go higher in ranks than they already are. it is all based on your individual effort. most of these scam comments are from people that didn't stay long enough in the business to understand it. I have seen numerous people from my local district getting up on stage and sharing their success path. We have comments such as 'maternity leave' turned into 'eternity leave'. From all walks of life. I have stayed long enough to track people when they first started to where they are now. And I must say they are moving up pretty quickly. As for me - I need to apply myself more and that too is a choice. It is so real it is scarey to think that another option exists out there apart from the social conditioning of a 9-5 job. Your contribution to your society doesn't stop we have very successful people doing this that have stuck to their original career paths because of how passionate they are on multiple things. Cult like tactics - If you don't want to be a successful business owner in this area where overheads are not that big compared to a traditional business that is fine, again it is your choice. But don't try and enforce your decision on others. Most of my family and friends have said - they can see the value of it. but they also feel that because they are grandparents they don't have much energy to invest in it. We have seen grandparents get successful in it too.
:) :) :) If you can take anything from this post - stay positive about your life choices some things work and some things don't . This can work for you - time and effort like any other business

I am so tired of these negative comments about AMWAY - It doesn't kill you to try something new. Think positive. How many people failed in their businesses. How many overheads does a traditional business have. You are complaining about purchasing a ticket to a function- when you made the choice to go. Your choice. no business pays for your professional development and air fair. Goodness. Your money your time you invest in your business your success is dependent on your individual effort. You are getting invaluable information from highly successful people in your business field that in a traditional business you would pay 1000 to normally see. Your upline ripped you off? talk to them. your signature goes on the paper you choose what you do with your money. most of these negative comments are coming from people that have not been in the business long enough to understand it or had a bad experience by associating with behavior issues of some sorry individual . I can honestly say their are doctors doing this. their are also people that mow lawns doing this that share the same success. My family are very supportive they can see the leadership skills and coping strategies that are in the education system. My parents never taught me this. now i am teaching them these strategies. Knowledge is power- do your own research. Think positive. The choice is yours. You know i learned from this business that your friends are the ones that won't join but will support you in anything you do. Yup there the ones that stuck around. This is not a cancer it is not something to be feared. it is an experience that may or may not benefit you. Again just do your own research. No one will hate you if you say no. but know what you are saying no to.

I truly am sorry for the people who left negative comments or have had a negative experience with Amway and Network 21. It's a good business with great quality products and instills great values through its education system. It shouldn't be generalised so harshly, especially when some things that have been said aren't true.

Welcome to the business world. It's not perfect and some people last longer than others. The only difference here is that earning money through Amway is a slow process because you don't see the fruits of effort right away. You don't earn money simply by attending the seminars or the conferences. Maybe that's why you guys view it as a scam or a pyramid-business? Because you've all only been to one or two functions?

I'm 19, a full-time university student and I work on my business through Amway in my spare time. I've had no prior success in life (how could I, when I'm so young?) but through Amway and Network 21, I've been able to set up a $50k a year recurring income. That's pretty good for someone who doesn't even have a part-time job and no prior success in the business world whatsoever. I learned everything through Amway and Network 21. The only difference between you and me is that I stuck with it and built my business (or lifestyle) from the ground up - the way it should be. Whereas you, and many others, expected yours to fly right away.

Please Help, i hear people mention that once you've lost a love one to this obsession they will eventually come around. I lost my brother to it many years ago and he cut me and many other people off for simply not matching his enthusiasm for listening to people rant about how great it is being wealthy on the back of their friends, families, and other unassuming targets.

Thing is he has gradually managed to alter my mothers independent thought, and now we seem to be loosing her too. People go on about the money and lifestyle that is seldom realized but promoted as a surety. The false hope, misrepresentations. But one of the saddest parts the real impact this has on the ground within friendships and families.

Please help, i want my brother back. I love him and his association with Amway/NW21 has caused him to change immeasurably. I saw in an earlier post that all you can do is wait for them to come round by themselves but i have been waiting around 15 years. He was hypnotically predicting his certain immense wealth by the time he was 30. He is now 36 and lives in a shack in a disadvantaged area of town. He has been the model Network 21 recruit giving up everything to the cause, living and breathing 'the business', disassociating with all loved ones who merely asserted their life choices differently. A choice we all should be free to enjoy.

I am not what academia or society generally considers a 'caveman' - a description an earlier poster attached to people who don't agree with their particular view - having completed a honors degree at law and leading an enjoyable professional existence. And I am not ignorant to the workings of 'the business' having spent many nights and weekends at these 'seminars' as the only way I could get to spent time with my brother. I was patient, I was unbiased and tolerant. But after a while I had to stop because it wasn't me and I was living a lie just to get so see my brother and see him smile.

Now when I seldom see him he never smiles. Please help, is there anything that is a proven remedy to the rifts this scam places in established and loving relationships? I am seeing my own mother go the same way. Please help!

I truly feel for you and most people snap outof it but there's not much you can do. He's not being "forced" to buy the stuff and is doing it on his free will. If you bash him, he will label you as "negative" and will likely avoid you altogether. It really is sad how some people fall and never snap out of it. Perhaps you should seek counseling or google Steve Hassan, who wrte books on how Amway is run like a cult and how member get sucked in and sta involved.

*joecool, thanks for that reference and advice, after brief google Steve Hassan seems like a great resource to explore further and hopefully get help.
And to the posters who talk of NW21 giving you freedom, you are either intentionally misleading, or deluded yourselves. You should see my brother and the people at these seminars, free is not anywhere in the remotest proximity to freedom. He is controlled and has spent much of the last 15 years working tirelessly in vein. I would hardly call that free.

I'm glad I could offer that little piece of help. Drop by if you have any other questions. Good luck!

can i just say in the interest of fair discussion, he has acquired a degree of interpersonal skills and confidence from the business, like public speaking, he is now pretty good at that. Also i had an argument with my mum about other things as well, and was probably a bit hasty to blame all our troubles on Amway/NW21 i have met a number of very nice people through NW21 over the years and can see it's appeal, it just isn't really for me

I write this as someone who has lost 2 GOOD friends - one to AMWAY and one to MANNATECH. First they tried to con me into attending meeetings, never mentioning the words AMWAY or NETWORK 21 or MANNATECH. Why the INITIAL LIE PEOPLE????? So immediately the scam starts with a lie. If AMWAY is so awesome, why lie? Anyway, both these friends were really awesome people and have now changed totally. For the worse. People avoid them - they have basically lost all their friends and alienated family. They have also lost thousands of rands attending BULLSHIT conferences and meetings and meeting with uninterested prospects. The problem with AMWAYS is, because it has been in South Africa so long, eventually the pyramid of prospects dries up (due to basic mathematical certainties and a finite number of people in a country). There is NO ONE left to con into this scam. OH AND THE PRODUCT PRICES!! R140 for Hymm shaving gel (Gilette costs R50). The products may / may not be of superior quality, but you can pick up the same quality product for half the price at the local convenience store. They say 'there is no middleman' - which is ANOTHER lie as EVERYONE above you in the PYRAMID is a middleman!! So you got a whole lot of people to pay. The AMWAY business WILL crash eventually, as do all dodgy scams, and the 'Diamonds' little houses of cards will all come crashing down. And then, they have NOTHING. So do not think they are awesome people trying to help you. They are DESPERATE and they NEED YOUR MONEY! But let the foolish lose their lives, as long as they leave me OUT OF IT :)

@ joe cool- no one makes real money in n21 until you get to platinum, like any traditional business you need to go through a hard slog and give up time for free to get rewards and let me tell you once you reach that level and above the rewards are many. Amway and network 21 is not a scam, far from it I'll tell you what a scam is I spent 6 years at Uni only to build someone else's dream I've spent 3 years in n21 and now I can retire from full time work. People who say it's a scam are not prepared to do the work and negative closed minded people. Wow paying 170 for a weekend conference that could change your life. I spent 2500 on a tony Robbins seminar and all I got was a good feeling and no direction, I spent 190 on a n21 conference it changed me forever no more working 12-14 hours a day in my own practice instead I now own my life n21 education system teaches life skills, relationship skills and much more.
One last thing to all the idiots on this page- the business model is set up so if you want to succeed you have to help others succeed and you help them for free name one place on earth where that happens?

Anonymous said...

Hi guys here are the real facts from someone who is successful in this business. @ joe cool 4000 pv isn't much any upline would have told you you don't make any real money until you get to 21% - 7500pv then when you reach that level guess what??? You have to help others achieve the same thing only them will you start to see profit in the numbers theses guts are taking about.
I heard someone on here say that only successful people make it in this business I had to laugh a little bit- look up Mitch sala one of the worlds biggest guys he would probably earn 1-2 mill a month this guy was the last person you would expect to be good at this but they followed the education program and now are probably aust biggest leaders and they are lovely people I have met both him and his wife.
Amway is a scam haha- like grow up look at the facts in order to succeed you must help others succeed how do you do that by mentoring and coaching them how to do it by reading books listening to CDs and being around successful people- if someone invites you to a meeting you should take this onto account 1. It's uncomfortable for that person to invite you.
2. The information in there could change your life it changed mine.
3. How much did you pay for it $25 for a bds 190 for a weekend I paid 2500 to see tony Robbins and got very little out if it it would cost at least 50000 to be coaches by him plus you have to fly to where he is. In n21 I have a vested interest in my downlines success so don't you think I would give him or her the best advice possible.
People grow in this busniess and it still brings tears to my eyes when I see of my new people on stage that has battled there demons to get there.

N21 is a unique organisation but one with a proven track record and growing all the time people that are willing to think different succeed others don't anything is better than working for 40 years don't you think?

Anonymous said...

Because as a society we are trained to think a certain way get an education go work for money sound familiar? In n21 we teach people to create a recurring income stream and do what you want with your life people like you can't handle that but that's ok because we are not looking for everyone only people who are worth while.

I was succoured into joining N21 in ZA and got my startup kit. After attending one of the Window Dressing like shows of flaunting widows depicting awesome travelling breakaways and extravagant lifestyles I immediately saw through the plan. I recognised that in order to make N21 / Amway work for me I would have to spend so much time (and funds) that it would jeopardize my existing career and relationship. Imagine; no more sport or social time, lie at work to try and reel in other succours increase your daily vehicle usage, surrender your hobbies etc, for a period of at least 3 to try5 years before you read any benefits (if you are really dedicated enough to Andre the ordeal .fo so long). Worst if all, you have to only misrepresent facts in manner that biases greed.
When I decided to leave my upline didn't even help by taking over my Away stock or the brainwashing tapes from Network 21.

Joe,thank you for the blog.An acquaintance of mine was acting weirdly a few days before and I was thinking what have I done to piss him when he called me,asking for a favour to have a meeting with him for his "project".I was a bit suspicious due to the sudden change in behaviour but due to him helping me out twice before I agreed to meet him.He starts to talk about what you want in life,10 years from now, and mentioning all those hip authors such as Dale Carnegie,Napoleon Hill,John Maxwell(Well I was in a fundie church b4 so anytime someone mentioned Maxwell my suspicion roses) .He never let me flip his printed presentation until he thinks he is safe in the topic,in which Amway did not show up until halfway thru, and Network 21 name only appears in the end.I am lucky I did not listen to him and insists that I am a person without ambition ,talking as nice as possible. He's polite tho.Firstly I dont think these motivational stuff are cheap, and if you want these stuff, you can bought it on Kobo(using discount codes - and I got plenty times of discount for it) or Audible which will be much more cheaper. And the end he shows me a contract ,for which I am very cautious due to a bad run-in with signing contracts few years ago. They seems to be trained well to make their presentation.I'm not sure how will u call N21 as ?Btw thanks again.I found this blog while on a research (which I found ur post in Randi, though I am not a skeptic, your posts are insightful).

Hi I was suckered into joining this business ten years ago
My 8yr old daughter had a rash on her leg due to clothing she was wearing
Doctor said must keep on using anti inflammatory creams.
A friend' told me washing powder called' SA8 'was hypo allergenic .
and it came in the start-up box .
I was then suckered into using shaving foam which cost more than twice Gillette does …
Eventually my wife was then asked to try their artistry range-beauty skin care.
They then said I had to try the supplements because the food we eat today is all processed food-zero nutrients.
I was coerced into attending seminar for guest speaker there a guy called Dornan .

10 years hence
My daughter does not have any more skin reactions ..the damn SA8 worked…first time
still using product.
The shaving gel lasted me 6months whereas Gillette only lasted me 1month ..still using product.
My wife still uses the skin care range as she loves it & it now the worlds no.1 in anti-aging
The supplementation is self- explanetary…almost everything today is processed genetically modified food's
Six months after I attended that seminar with Dornan I drove into an attempted robbery
at home - I was shot at point blank range….. Three hours later I was wheeled into surgery..
I had lost a lot of blood , but given only the drip… as there was a shortage of blood..
During the time I was conscious in hospital I kept on focusing on what that guy Dornan said.
After three days I walked out of hospital with a huge scar bandages & renewed hope.
That guy Dornan is not with us anymore ,but I attribute his words to saving my life.
Heres to you Dornan ,you walked a path few are afraid to tread ,yet many whinge & whine about.
I like to see if any of these guys really understand what a pyramid scheme is ..because you don’t.
I like to see if any of you can understand how would a company go about promoting quality products
at wholesale prices, Independently certified, verified & using scheduled(pharmaceutical)quality
control.
I like to see a forum where those guys who had to close down more than 15 McDonalds franchises
talk about losing 1,5million each
I like to see all of those who lost jobs in the 2008 credit crunch talk about losing there houses ,their
dignity their hope…
You just read about a guy who because one man said a few words -became vital to him six months
later …
There will always be the @joe cools of this world , they think that they are really cool yet use an apt logo in what they have to offer ie.' Peanuts'
I am not a platinum or diamond in this business ,but I am a consumer because the products work period.
I think its time I became one.

Thanks guys I'm from za. I've decided to continue with network 21. At the end of the day its worth a try. Any business takes about 3 years before making a substantial turnover. And its hard work. And when you don't go to work your business stops. But network21 Amway allows you too still keep your current occupation and work part time after hours to make a extra income that you would of never had anyways. When we die we take nothing with us anyway. What you do in between is up to you. Do it don't do it. It doesn't matter. We all live on hope and faith anyway. So what the hell give it a try. If your successful well then good for you. If you think you been scammed. Try something else. You can make a success out of anything really. "If you take a grain of sand its worth nothing. But pass it though a million hands. And you would have given that grain of sand value." We are all bound by money and material items. Its the one thing we all have in common. We all work for one reason. And that's for money. But would you work yourself into a coma labouring every day for a couple hundred a day. Or would you rather spend time with family and friends and meet incredible people while working your way to earning 50000 additional income a month . By the time you start saving its already too late. With inflation rates by the time you retire what you save know will be worth nothing in 20 years. So why not rather invest your savings into something that has no risk and allows for growing and reacuring income for the rest of your life. Even if it was a scheem or cult or scam which i am not saying it is then screwit. At least you'll still be making money. Isn't that what you have already been trying to do all your life. I qout " do what others do and you will have what others have" use it like you please!!

Jay said...

There is a thin line between greed and earning an extra income. Network 21 & Amway allow you to conduct a decent business, albeit an often misunderstood one due to negative publicity and generalization and pre-judgement that such business system of growing business by growing the team is some kind of scam or pyramid. Such ignorance & pre-judgement.

I think it is because these people have been taught (whether in school or social association), or are just used to, the traditional way of building business by direct selling or earning money by being an employee.

That is why most people do not get out of the rut of being an employee or doing own business by buying & selling for a profit.
Only a small percentage of people think differently to build wealth by leveraging on people, and these are the people who believe in network marketing and growing the business by leveraging on the collective effort of many people at the same time.

This important part is missed out by many people who cannot see with clarity and accept such way of doing business and start labelling such business as scam, brain-washing, and so forth.

This business is for people with a different mindset, who want either extra income or achieve their dreams (big or small), nothing wrong with that.

Just like there are many ways to skin a cat, there are many ways to earn a living. Why speak ill of one? Or is it plain envy as these people cannot believe that such a network system can work, without trying to understand it or working at it doggedly till the desired results are obtained? The road to success is never an easy one, isn't it, otherwise it would really be a scam.

Network marketing as a business has stood the test of time, hasn't it? Some people succeed (those who spend time working on it again and again and again, persevere), some failed (quit too early, no perseverence).

Hi all,
I am from India, i have been in this Amway/N21 from last 6 months... first 3 months i just attended some seminars, my upline(both husband and wife) used to drag me to those.. my upline are parents of my kids school friends... firstly they used to behave so nicely that u really forced to think, these ppl r so nice...they really care for u and ur kids and ur parents.... that lady upline used to call me everyday as if she really care for me and my family members more than my relatives and friends....but after joining, i started showing plan... in first month i became pacesetter.... in second month there was my kids summer vacation, and it was obvious that i will go for vacation with them, when my upline came to know this, they started taunting, using some unethical words(but at that same time they forget they r also having kids and their kids also deserve enjoyment in summer vacations, meeting relatives, having get together, fun etc.. poor kids same as their poor parents)...poor not at all by means money... but ethics :(
Still i managed to show plans in that period and again became pacesetter... in mean while i have used almost all products(cost near about Rs. 30,000 to 40,000)...
But when i asked them more details about income slabs they r refusing to give it to me and my father... they always give answers like u do join more ppl then will tell u.... u will not understand that vital signs charts and all that stuff....
First they used to call me daily but when i call them for any help they simply say we r busy showing plan , joining new pppl, u do the same , will call u later .... means signs of avoiding..
Now what is more irritating to me ....
Firstly this uplines do so much favour to u before joining...
but once u join and you ask them questions about money slabs , what shud be next step... they give stupid answers as process of calculation for money slabs is diffficult.... can ny one tell me if u r doing some business, don't u want to know how much money u will make after particular time period( i am not telling after 2-3 years )..... Its really shameful these type of ppl before join can do whatever u want but after that... they show their really nature and how much bullshit they are.... I want to ask ppl who r in favour of N21, thus N21 really teaches to cheat with ppl... as these uplines r doing with me and my father.... does N21 really cares for new joiners and take care of them form such bullshits upline... one fact i really come to know, u r not Independent Business Onwer.. but r servants to ur uplines...

from ex-Amway Emerald: I felt miserable and believed that I was a total failure as a husband, father and leader. On the outside, we were the perfect picture of Amway success, but we were going further and further into debt to travel to these mandatory Amway lifestyle/travel meetings. We looked great! We wore tuxedos and gowns and were cheered with standing ovations at seminars we attended. Some success! We looked good on the outside, but we were just plain dead broke.

Network 21 will internalize a set of beliefs. One is that there is no other way to be happy, succeed, or fulfill God’s purpose in your life other than through Amway.

The problem is a person coming out shouting scam about a company tgat has been viewd and reviewd then approved that theres no scam and shouting scam on a blog site adding to the internet junk on the web...porn is not prohibited online so for all we know rival companies go against such a company only because the amway company cuts out the middle man, your advertising
And sponsors to aleeady rich sports men to try and catch the poor and selling a lifestyle, and gives that
Money to the people who will actually grow the amway business!!! Which company is willing to put you on a education system for free and for how long...that money you pay goes to the people emplyed by network 21 to do the cd's and ... so to those who look for answers online sorry you won't find it on a blog. ..for a company already listed on forbes and so old and still growing. ..those are not fact but opinions of what could be a coward or an ignorant guy or just an alien who knows. ..like really now. ...companies out there really ripping off people and this is the best you can do....psssssss

Network Marketing with a multi-level compensation plan is in reality a business worldwide.

It's the system of the business that creates "CULTURES" regardless of it being decent and professional or gruesome and deceptive. I have been through seminars and have observed the different kinds of emotional responses to the SCHEME of business.

Believe me, I do not like the way most people do the business because a lot made me feel they just want to use me and suck the money out me. So I avoid those people. However, the reality is, in every Network Marketing company it is possible to encounter the kind of people who are greedy, deceptive, and degrading in their approach to the business. It's a play of gullibility and greed.

Nevertheless, I believe, I can do the business without losing in mind ethical values and the key is simply EDUCATION. Forgive those you see giving up their dignity and becoming blood suckers, its just that they haven't yet gotten over the overwhelming potential of Network Marketing and are still learning to do the business by being educated and principle centered.

Now I have just known that Network 21's endeavor is to help people get "THE EDUCATION" to do the business right. So I'm giving it a shot, and I believe there is much to learn if I would remain PROACTIVE during the training. Besides, its the only way to really know if its crap or not.

I do hate it when I find myself with people who are only being good to you because they have interest on your potentials. I like the kind who simply are transparent with the business, unassuming, and with all honesty share their knowledge and skills for empowering other people.

CAN SOMEBODY AROUND HERE TESTIFY THAT HE OR SHE HAS LEARNED TIMELY PRINCIPLES AND SKILLS TO DO NETWORK MARKETING BUSINESS BY TRAINING WITH NETWORK 21's EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM?

I would love to hear from you and would deeply appreciate it.

Spoken by a loser who knows nothing. I've not spent hardly any money in CDs & seminars, and I'm starting to make money. Just because you're a failure does not mean everyone else has to be. It's not obviously for everyone. Grow up, and find something else to do .

Joecool said...

The leaders lied and said nobody profits from the cds and functions. Then they tols us to reinvest our profit into tools. We were told to trust these leaders because they were millionaires and that we should follow their advice.

The reality is these trusted leaders were making their real money from the tools. Even if you make some profit, the tools will practicallt ensure that you operate at a loss. Do the math

What annoys me about network 21 and all the people who say what you can learn from it, about how to succeed and follow your dreams and learn from successful people, all this kind of information is already out there! You don't have to go to a specific group, pay them money every month and pay even more for seminars, plus paying for your accomadation JUST to hear this. I've been learning this stuff for myself before I got approached, and all of what they were saying about achieving success in your dreams is something that is not new to me, I just don't have to pay that much for my material, and I don't have to get hassled from people about meetings

Unknown said...

Honestly, it works for those smart enough to see it. The facts are that people are going to do it whether you're the one to set them up or not, and the products are freakin awesome. Who wouldn't pay a tiny joining fee (I spend more going out, one night) to get 25% off telstra. And thats just one benefit.

Ria Sharma said...

In India, the joining fee is zero.. And it's not mandatory to attend meeting or buy cds anymore... I just shifted from my normal soap n paste to products from amway. They last longer so on the long run are more cost affective.. A few of my friends at hostel use it too just because they like it. Due to the discount i make almost 1.5k a month pocket money for not much effort.
Even if you don't want to build the business, i think people should join in order to change their shopping habits and use better consumables while saving money too.. :)

I have been an IBO for over 20 years. I attended many weekends. I live in Illinois and went to many in Texas. I learned that each person decides for themselves what they want from the business. From a few $100 a month to yes a very comfortable lifestyle. This is not a get rich quick scheme it is a long term commitment to "WORK" at something you really want. Corporate America such as say Walgreens at the top there are the big money makers. I have heard that stock boys went through the ranks and became part of upper management. It took years and a lot of hard work. The same is true with the Amway business. I took my eye off the ball and stopped working at my business. No fault of theirs. I have continued to renew every year because I still believe in this business. It is there at anytime I want to start again. I do not regret having traveled to meetings. I learned many things from being introduced to this business and the friends I have made. It helped me to see that I could start a business other than my Amway business and to be successful at that. It took a lot more money to get that started. I hope someone is out there that reads this.

Joecool said...

Thanks for your comments but as you can see, even with your positive, attitude, you have not been able to make Amway work for you. The difference between those Walgreen employees and Amway IBOs is that the Walgreen's workers drew a paycheck as they worked their way up. Amway IBOs don't get anything and in fact, end up losing money because traveling to functions and the like are not free.

No Katie, we are sorry that we couldn't get to you sooner before you were groomed. Everything that you have said is word for word what you are told to say and you have just eaten it right up. All of us haters have heard all of this before, the names change but not the story. If it's so amazing, why the need to justify the legitimacy of your pyramid scheme! You can't sugar coat it. The devil comes in many different forms and he is preying on the vulnerable and the weak in the form of motivational speakers. If you're a con, you'll be very successful in this scheme living the life off others, others who fall by the way side when they realise they're that annoying persons conning people. It's sad, but times are going to get tougher and there are going to be more and more emotionally vulnerable people to suck dry. I attended a session and I likened the experience to the scene out of 'Blade' (blood bath rave) I was lucky to get out alive. It also felt like I was at a car dealership trying to get away from that damn salesman.
Each to their own though. I like my friends and family more than money and materialistic things.
Only advice I can give, is live within your means, do your homework and don't go to these things if you're depressed, emotional, broke and have a conscience!
Be happy people :)

Awesome response. You obviously had a great experience and the longer you hang around the more you learn about yourself and yes helping others too. The people that are small minded and lack perseverance are the ones that loose out.
I'll compare them to joining a gym and attending once then say it does not work.

You got to stick around, it's a process and you will see the results.

I wonder what other options they have to live the life they want if it's not this. 😳

Or maybe a charity to get these guys back on track, a dedicated phone line, some people are addicted to dreaming. I knw amway and network21 very well. I went to many seminars, only to critisiza (very negatively) them. I had the honour to talk to the biggest diamonds in australia, only to laugh at them ( well, they were laughing at me because I am "poor" eh eh i am still laughing now). I did not pay one cent to hear they propaganda or cd or energy drinks, or supplements. It was a long time ago, i just got curious now to see if they are still going. They are and they want your money. Ask them if you can borrow they cds for free. Good comedy stuff. The best was a guy screaming he was exited for the who,e duration of the cd and that's what they call good business attitude. Then people crying and telling they stories...

I spend less than 1% of my income on toothpaste and the other kind of basic stuff that they want to peddle as their "main business". And also, I would never buy basic stuff from Amway.

If you could get rich by selling the petty stuff, it is easy to just import items of middle quality from China and sell it with a great margin in a grocery store, right? You would get a ten times better margin and much higher profit per work hour if you do that.

So, what is the point with hiding behind petty items of lesser quality?

- Anyone in their right mind can see that the "fooled cultists" many hours spent studying, pushing "business meetings", sales activities etc. are just wasted. No real value is created. It's all talk and talk. The complexity is meant to create a never-ending sandstorm to hide the pyramidal form of 'a few rich at the top and a lot of losers (earning less than minimum wages per hour) at the bottom'.

I have seen families spending all their daytime, spare time and weekends in this crap. Leading meetings, seminars, running their lines etc. For 20 years. And still they are poorer than the average families. I would estimate that they make lower than 40% of a normal income per hour spent.

And also in that pursuit of WEALTH - they have lost more and more friendliness and become more and more hardened for lies and deceit to forward their positions in Network21.

It is definately a cult, and the more you buy into it, the more you have to stay in it so you don't lose by "leaving out too early". (See 'The sunk cost fallacy' that explains this principle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunk_cost )

Thank you for this site Joecool. I hope to make the world a better place by ripping the cover off from these scams and similar ones. There are people who don't care much for others as long as they get rich themselves. Such people are not worthy of success!

Best regards, Frenchy
