Amway Global - IBOs Compare Themselves To WalMart?

One thing I used to see as an IBO was the speaker at some meeetings compare the Amway opportunity to a "shopper's club". These may include Costco, Sam's Club and WalMart. I even heard of IBOs prospecting in WalMart. This is sort of redundant, and frankly, IBOs doing this are barking up the wrong tree.

Why do I say this? Because there are some Amway zealots, such as IBOFightback, who make arguments (without bonafide neutral party assessments) that Amway in fact may not save you money, but certainly that Amway may be of superior quality as compared to the big box retailers. Now the quality of soap and vitamins are subjective, and most people are perfectly happy with the goods they purchase (cheaply) at WalMart or Costco at a discount.

Also, the flaw with making the case for quality is that Amway goods are nearly exclusively sold to IBOs! IBOs have a financial interest in purchasing Amway products, thus their opinions are biased, as is IBOFightback's. While I'm sure Amway does have some quality products, the average person on the street shops at Costco or Walmart for a reason. Costco and WalMart sell their goods cheap! Many customers know this and shop at these venues for that very reason!

Thus, while IBOs may be able to argue quality or concentration factors for Amway products, to argue that these same products are cheaper than a big box retailer is silly. I know some supporters will want to refute this claim, but I offer them this. Provide a neutral third party assessment, such as a consumer report magazine write up, that Amway products are better and/or cheaper than WalMart or Costco and we'll have something to discuss.

Until then, it is my conclusion that WalMart/Costco products are much cheaper than most comparable Amway products, and the general public agrees. Amway sales are dwarfed by WalMart and Costco sales. The numbers tell quite a story......

this is the most lamebrained comment on pricing i have ever heard. not only is it completely biased but way off base. First you wont find a comparison between Amway and Walmart in a non-Amway or Walmart Ad or Magazine. Its called advertising and up until our commercial we dont do it. But I have shopped as a customer enjoying products that did in fact last me longer than any of the classy cliche brands you see regularly on tv. How do you equate doing more loads of laundry than any other brand for cheaper while on top of the fact I have never found a brand that cleans my clothes or whitens my whites than Sa8. This is only one of the many products in which i find a savings. Also when I add in the fact that I don't have to run off to the store with these high gas prices, waste my time in line, and run the risk of a ticket or accident (which would cost more money) this option is by far safer and much more efficient. So, before you comment, There are many of us customers and IBO's who feel this way and quite honestly could care less if you dont.

Ps. Also for you and gina's info. this is why I don't make so much as I know you can in this business because i have been working and raising a family and enjoying great products while now wanting to expand in the sales market of these great products.

Levi, only Amway people compare themselves to costco or WalMart in concept. But it is a poor comparison because WalMart shoppers are there for low prices. Some IBOs feel that Amway has superior products, but that is an opinion that has not been backed by any bonafide information.

Levi states "I have never found a brand that cleans my clothes or whitens my whites than Sa8."

Have you tried every brand to make that conclusion?

Levi states "Also when I add in the fact that I don't have to run off to the store with these high gas prices, waste my time in line, and run the risk of a ticket or accident (which would cost more money) this option is by far safer and much more efficient."

You did not include wear and tear on your car or getting hit by a meteorite. Also using the above as a selling point, does that also apply when going anywhere?

You state "Its called advertising and up until our commercial we dont do it."

I have seen ads on Facebook as well as on the Fox News website. I think all IBOs's receive a monthly magazine, and there may be some "advertisements" about products included.

So when did Amway start selling milk, eggs, butter, cheese, fresh veggies, fruit ect? Or do you IBO's change your eating habbits to avoid those things and hope that Double X will give the proper nutrition instead?

Careful, cause you can get shocked by being on a computer, you can get carpial tunnel, you could get hit by lightning while inside the house, an earthquake can hit and destroy your building, a forest fire can burn everything down, a plane could crash into your living room....all those things would cost more money and could kill you all because you were home instead of out shopping at a store.

"Also for you and gina's info. this is why I don't make so much as I know you can in this business because i have been working and raising a family and enjoying great products while now wanting to expand in the sales market of these great products."

That's what we call in the real worls a justification. A justification as to why you are not making money, a justification you felt necessary to make because you are not making any money and didn't expect it would turn out this way. A justification as to why it can't possibly be a falw in the "supposed business". Just another justification. Present an accurate P/L and we can be the judge of money to time (cause its on the P/L, so no worries we could see how much you make to the time spent making it)

you all are the most pathetic bucnh of lame brained idiots i have ever heard of. not only do you fail to open your eyes and see this world changes every day with new ideas and concepts and that people are free to do as they please. I dont have to be an employee please get that through your thick skulls. its like you all are a recruitment center for employees and anyone wanting to do otherwise is laughed at and ridiculed. are you serious? are we not allowed to do something different? How many people in history went against the norm even when odds did not look so great? (like my fact that no I am not able to quit my job yet Ha ha) but i am going to always do this and contiue to make a way for myself to be finacially free. how about all of you? still struggling? if not then what does your savings acc look like? how long could you live if you had to stop working today?

and mike yeah i have acually done tests to find out personally weather or not sa8 works better. and wow it does imagine that? not only that but i save money vs per load counts. like it or not that is my results you dont have to like it but i do wow imagine that 2 people with opposing veiws
get a life
oh wait your job owns that.

Levi, who is laughing at you? Go ahead and be a free thinker.

But when you break it down, joining Amway is like having a job. You are a comissioned Amway
sales person. Nothing more and nothing less.

It's not truly free enterprise as your upline would have you believe. You have to comply with all the Amway rules or be subject to not receiving your bonus.

Wait....so we respond legitimately and we are pathetic? How about answering the question...when did Amway start selling milk, eggs, cheese, veggies ect? Or do you never venture to the store for those items? And how is it safer? Do you deny that one can die in their home from something other than natural causes? Ask the wife of the man in Buffalo who had a plane crash into his home what she thinks about that and if she ever thought it would happen to her or her family.

And no one is laughing at you. I can not understand why it is you say you want an open dialog but when ever anyone challenges anything you say you are being laughed at? Would you rather we sugar coat everything? Can you not handle an adult discussion? Even you said that the world is a rough place and that you don't need to be kind....so why do you expect that road to be one way? Stop making silly assumptions.

Cool, could you post your results of all the products you tested and the results. You stated you never found a brand, that is better or at least the same.

So I still ask have you tried them "all"?

As far a liking or not liking your results, I would settle with seeing them first.

As far as jobs owning anyone.

Here is the thing...don't sell any Amway products, then tell me if you are making any money?

Same thing with a "job" ya don't do it you make nothing..

mike, if you want stats then go to Amway, If you think they are biased then go to your brand name if you think they might be biased you might be on to something.
regardless if I show you my findings you will see me as biased so whats the point, I am just stating an honest remark. you can like it or not. I see amway as a low cost opportunity and that is honestly how it is. if you find it different then fine to you it is different but dont get upset and try to break down my arguemnts when all I am saying is how it is for me. not you, for me. you like a job, I dont. its for you, not me.
